Our diabetes education and management service is lead by Charlie Dirito, who is recognised as a Credentialed Diabetes Educator and has specialist qualifications in the education and management of Diabetes.
The service assists patients to improve self-management of diabetes through tailored education in blood glucose monitoring, healthy eating and exercise. Diabetes education can also help to reduce diabetic complications and improve a person’s quality of life.
All consultations are designed to meet a patient’s specific diabetes care requirements.
Assistance is also provided for registering with the national diabetes service scheme (NDSS).
Diabetes Care Plan
Charlie works closely with his patients to create a personalised care plan, tailored to
meet their individual and specific needs.
Blood Glucose Monitoring
Free blood glucose meters are available. Conditions apply.
Having to check your blood sugar levels can be a daunting task. Our team understands this and all patients will be given expert instruction on how to operate these devices. We work to ensure each patient has a full understanding of how to check their blood sugar levels.
Knowing the right foods to eat when you have diabetes can be confusing and with so many fad diets out there, it can be a minefield trying to navigate your way to a healthy diet. Our diabetes team can aid your understanding of this by providing general dietary advice to help set you on the right path. When further specialist or dietician input is required, our team can facilitate a referral to dietetic services.
